How long is the recovery after bulbous nose rhinoplasty?

Bulbous nose rhinoplasty refines a round, blunt nasal tip or wide-spreading nostrils. The clinic website divides bulbous noses into three types — overdeveloped tip cartilage, a wide gap between the left and right cartilage, and excess skin and fat at the tip — and corrects each type differently.

How it is done

According to the clinic website, a 3D-CT scan taken prior to surgery is used to analyse the internal structure of the nose, the cartilage, the skin layers and any functional problems, and the findings are reflected in the surgical plan. After detailed examination, a custom design is made and the surgical area is planned. Where the cartilage is overdeveloped, part of it is resected according to the design, and cartilage that spreads to both sides is brought together to narrow the tip. Where there is excess skin and fat at the tip, the overdeveloped subcutaneous tissue is removed, according to the clinic. An anesthesiologist monitors the patient during surgery; consultation, design and the operation are handled by the assigned surgeon, and aftercare consists of follow-up checks by that surgeon and 1:1 care by a dedicated coordinator, according to the clinic.
