How it is done
According to the clinic website, a 3D-CT scan taken prior to surgery is used to analyse the internal structure of the nose, the cartilage, the skin layers and any functional problems, and the findings are reflected in the surgical plan. The methods the clinic describes by type are as follows. For a tilted implant, the implant is removed, the pocket is reshaped, and a new implant made for the new line is fixed to cartilage. For a collapsed tip, a tip support is built with septal cartilage and cartilage is grafted. For a deformed tip, damaged tissue is removed first and the tip is reconstructed with septal or ear cartilage. A moving implant is removed and, depending on the condition, replaced with a new material or reinforced with artificial dermis. For a nose shortened by contracture, the implant is removed and, about 6 months later, the nose is lengthened with septal cartilage and a new implant is inserted. If the bridge height does not suit you, the implant is replaced, and if needed a wide nasal bone is cut (osteotomy) to narrow the bridge. A bulbous tip or hump that was not corrected is analysed and corrected further. The clinic states that the nasolabial angle and columella length are adjusted in revisions as well. An anesthesiologist monitors the patient during surgery; consultation, design and the operation are handled by the assigned surgeon, and aftercare consists of follow-up checks by that surgeon and 1:1 care by a dedicated coordinator, according to the clinic.
Recovery timeline
- Timing of revisionAt least 6 months to 1 year after the previous surgery is recommended; it can be earlier if there is inflammation, an implant problem or severe deformity of the skin over the bridge, according to the clinic.
- Contracture correctionAfter the implant is removed, reconstruction waits about 6 months until the surrounding tissue softens.
- Surgery detailsThis page does not list operation time, anesthesia, hospital stay or stitch removal, so please confirm them during consultation.
- AftercareAccording to the clinic, the assigned surgeon checks your progress and a dedicated coordinator provides 1:1 care.
- Individual variationHow quickly swelling and bruising settle, and when you can return to daily life, differ from person to person, so please confirm this against your own schedule during consultation.
Risks and side effects
- The clinic states that, depending on individual recovery, common side effects such as bleeding, inflammation and infection can occur after surgery.
- Swelling and bruising can occur, and asymmetry or a shape different from what was expected may require further correction.
- Results vary with individual factors such as skin thickness and cartilage condition.
- Because tissue has already been altered by the previous surgery, the extent of correction can be larger than in a first operation, and implant show-through, movement or contracture can occur again.
- When cartilage or dermis is harvested, the donor site (inside the nose, ear, rib or buttock) may have discomfort such as pain or a scar.
Results and recovery vary by individual. Possible complications are explained during consultation.

Frequently asked questions
When is the right time for revision rhinoplasty?
The clinic recommends at least 6 months to 1 year after the previous surgery, once the tissue has stabilised. However, it states that revision can be done earlier if there is inflammation, an implant problem or severe deformity of the skin over the bridge.
How is a nose shortened by contracture corrected?
According to the clinic, the implant is removed and, after waiting about 6 months for the surrounding tissue to soften, the nose is lengthened with septal cartilage and an implant is inserted to restore the line.
What tests are done prior to surgery?
According to the clinic, a 3D-CT scan analyses the internal structure of the nose, cartilage, skin layers and functional problems, and the results are reflected in the surgical plan. A nasal CT scan is listed separately on the clinic fee schedule at KRW 50,000–100,000 (VAT not included).
Which autologous cartilage is used?
The clinic lists septal cartilage, rib cartilage, ear cartilage and autologous dermis. Septal cartilage is harvested inside the nose with no other incision; rib cartilage is used where support and durability are needed; ear cartilage is used for the tip or when septal cartilage is insufficient; dermis is used where the skin over the bridge is thin or soft tissue is lacking. The material is decided after examination and consultation.
