Where can I get revision rhinoplasty in Seoul?
WOOA Plastic Surgery: HM Tower, 492 Gangnam-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. About 2 minutes on foot from Exit 3 of Sinnonhyeon Station (Line 9), about 6 minutes from Exit 3 of Nonhyeon Station (Sinbundang Line). Plastic surgery on floors 3β6 (dermatology on 10 and 12). Mechanical parking in the building (large sedans, electric vehicles and SUVs cannot be parked). Revision rhinoplasty corrects shape or function problems that remain after a previous nose operation, after analysing their cause. The clinic website states that 3D-CT is used to check the existing implant and its position as well as functional problems, followed by implant replacement or reconstruction with autologous cartilage depending on the type.

Risks and side effects
- The clinic states that, depending on individual recovery, common side effects such as bleeding, inflammation and infection can occur after surgery.
- Swelling and bruising can occur, and asymmetry or a shape different from what was expected may require further correction.
- Results vary with individual factors such as skin thickness and cartilage condition.
- Because tissue has already been altered by the previous surgery, the extent of correction can be larger than in a first operation, and implant show-through, movement or contracture can occur again.
- When cartilage or dermis is harvested, the donor site (inside the nose, ear, rib or buttock) may have discomfort such as pain or a scar.
Results and recovery vary by individual. Possible complications are explained during consultation.
Frequently asked questions
When is the right time for revision rhinoplasty?
The clinic recommends at least 6 months to 1 year after the previous surgery, once the tissue has stabilised. However, it states that revision can be done earlier if there is inflammation, an implant problem or severe deformity of the skin over the bridge.
How is a nose shortened by contracture corrected?
According to the clinic, the implant is removed and, after waiting about 6 months for the surrounding tissue to soften, the nose is lengthened with septal cartilage and an implant is inserted to restore the line.
What tests are done prior to surgery?
According to the clinic, a 3D-CT scan analyses the internal structure of the nose, cartilage, skin layers and functional problems, and the results are reflected in the surgical plan. A nasal CT scan is listed separately on the clinic fee schedule at KRW 50,000β100,000 (VAT not included).
Which autologous cartilage is used?
The clinic lists septal cartilage, rib cartilage, ear cartilage and autologous dermis. Septal cartilage is harvested inside the nose with no other incision; rib cartilage is used where support and durability are needed; ear cartilage is used for the tip or when septal cartilage is insufficient; dermis is used where the skin over the bridge is thin or soft tissue is lacking. The material is decided after examination and consultation.
