Breast asymmetry revision — WOOA Plastic Surgery
A revision that rebalances breasts whose size or shape differs following surgery by reducing or enlarging the implant. The clinic states that dissatisfaction with size purely for appearance does not make size correction medically necessary, but revision is needed when an ill-fitting implant causes capsular contracture, visible implant edges or altered sensation. Price: KRW 10,000,000~ Per the clinic's surgery information: operation time about 2 hours, general anesthesia, same-day discharge, no stitch removal, recovery period one week.

Who this is for
- When the left-right difference is large enough to change how clothes fit
- When one side sags or sits at a different height
- When a shifted implant makes the feel or shape unnatural
How it is done
Internal problems are checked by ultrasound, then the decision is made to downsize or upsize the implant. To downsize, part of the capsule is removed and the pocket is tightened with compression before a smaller implant is inserted; to upsize, additional dissection enlarges the pocket for a larger implant.

Risks and side effects
- Revision is also implant surgery, so the causes of capsular contracture the clinic lists (bleeding or hematoma, infection with inflammation, excessive fibrosis) can occur again.
- Capsule-related conditions listed by the clinic include implant rupture, capsular contracture, seroma and calcification.
- Keloid-type scars can form; they are treated with scar injections.
- The clinic states that breast revision is more difficult than the first operation.
- The clinic lists causes of asymmetry including pre-existing differences, implant displacement, capsular contracture or capsule differences, uneven swelling, scarring or adhesion during healing, and body changes — so some left-right difference can remain following revision.
Results and recovery vary by individual. Possible complications are explained during consultation.
For international patients
- The clinic website (ABOUT WOOA) states that interpreters and 24-hour care staff are available. Supported languages are not listed on the website, so please confirm during consultation.

Frequently asked questions
Does asymmetry always need revision?
The clinic states that if you are simply unhappy with size for appearance, size correction is not medically necessary, but revision is needed when an ill-fitting implant causes capsular contracture, visible implant edges or altered sensation.
How do downsizing and upsizing differ?
Downsizing tightens the pocket by partial capsule removal and compression and then inserts a smaller implant — the clinic describes this as a difficult operation. Upsizing enlarges the pocket with additional dissection for a larger implant.
How long is the operation and do I stay in hospital?
About 2 hours under general anesthesia with same-day discharge; there are no stitches to remove.
Who performs the breast surgery?
The clinic's breast surgery and breast revision pages state that three board-certified plastic surgeons — Dr. Kim Woo-jung, Dr. Park Young-ji and Dr. Park Hae-yeon — operate in person. A board-certified anesthesiologist is dedicated 1:1 to anesthesia from the start to the end of surgery.
