Who this is for
- Those who want an implant whose shape changes naturally between lying down and standing
- Those planning augmentation through an armpit or breast-fold incision
How it is done
Ultrasound checks the breast and implant suitability, and implant size, height and projection are chosen to fit the body. An incision is made in the armpit crease or breast fold, the pocket is created under Full HD endoscopic view, and the Motiva implant is inserted with a Keller funnel. The implant is placed dual-plane (partly under the muscle, partly under the breast gland) and the incision is closed with Dermabond. A board-certified anesthesiologist handles anesthesia 1:1.
Recovery timeline
- Hospital staySurgery is planned so that same-day discharge is possible; if a one-night stay is needed, you recover in a hospital room.
- EatingYou may eat 8 hours post-surgery; soft rice gruel or porridge is recommended.
- Closure and stitchesThe incision is closed with medical skin adhesive, so no stitches are removed at follow-up visits.
- Walking and exerciseWalks are possible from 2–3 days post-surgery; avoid exercise for one month.
- Arm movementLight arm movements are fine, but raising the arms overhead is allowed from one month post-surgery.
- Compression garmentWear a compression bra for about one month and an upper band for 2–4 weeks.
- DrivingDriving yourself is recommended only from 7–10 days post-surgery.
- Underwire braCan be worn from 6 months post-surgery.
- Scar careScar ointment is prescribed from 2 weeks post-surgery; keloid-type scars are treated with scar injections; laser scar care may follow 6 months to 1 year later depending on healing.
Risks and side effects
- Capsular contracture: the capsule around the implant tightens and hardens; the clinic lists bleeding or hematoma, bacterial infection with inflammation, excessive fibrosis and implant damage as causes.
- The clinic notes that dual-plane placement can show animation deformity (shape change when the chest muscle moves), bottoming-out and lateral displacement.
- Implant rupture, double-bubble deformity, upper-pole fullness or asymmetry may require revision surgery.
- Keloid-type scars can form; they are treated with scar injections.
Results and recovery vary by individual. Possible complications are explained during consultation.
For international patients
- The clinic website (ABOUT WOOA) states that interpreters and 24-hour care staff are available. Supported languages are not listed on the website, so please confirm during consultation.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Motiva and Mentor implants?
Per the clinic website, Motiva Ergonomix features a SmoothSilk surface, BluSeal and a UDI chip. For Mentor, the clinic offers Xtra (fill volume can be adjusted), Boost (memory gel) and Smooth (smooth surface); Mentor also has a manufacturer lifetime warranty policy that replaces implants under certain conditions for products implanted in Korea. Which implant suits you is decided in consultation based on body shape and test results.
What is the UDI chip?
It is a unique device identifier built into Motiva implants; the clinic states it allows the implant information to be checked.
How long is recovery?
Walks from 2–3 days, exercise and raising the arms overhead from one month, driving from 7–10 days, and underwire bras from 6 months post-surgery. A compression bra is worn for about one month and an upper band for 2–4 weeks.
Who performs the breast surgery?
The clinic's breast surgery and breast revision pages state that three board-certified plastic surgeons — Dr. Kim Woo-jung, Dr. Park Young-ji and Dr. Park Hae-yeon — operate in person. A board-certified anesthesiologist is dedicated 1:1 to anesthesia from the start to the end of surgery.
