Under-eye fat repositioning — WOOA Plastic Surgery
Under-eye fat repositioning removes bulging fat under the eyes or moves it into hollow areas to smooth the under-eye contour. According to the clinic website, the type of dark circles is analysed to decide the extent of surgery and whether fat is removed, and the procedure is done through an incision on the inner side of the lower eyelid (conjunctiva). Price: KRW 350,000~ Per the clinic's surgery information: operation time 30 minutes to 1 hour, local anesthesia or sedation, no hospital stay required, no stitch removal. The incision is made in the conjunctiva on the inside of the eyelid, not in the skin.

Who this is for
- Those concerned that the under-eye area makes them look tired
- Those concerned about dark circles under the eyes
- Those whose sagging under-eye fat makes them look older
- Those whose under-eye blood vessels show through and look pale
How it is done
Prior to surgery, age, symptoms, eye shape, skin thickness and under-eye soft tissue are assessed to diagnose the type of dark circles and design the plan. The conjunctiva on the inside of the lower eyelid is incised, and excess under-eye fat is removed or repositioned into hollow areas (the tear trough and, where needed, toward the front of the cheek). The loosened orbital septum is reinforced and restored, and the incision is closed with fine sutures. The clinic states that it trims only the necessary fat without damaging the orbicularis oculi muscle in order to keep the under-eye roll (aegyo-sal).

Frequently asked questions
Will there be a scar?
Per the clinic website, the incision is made in the conjunctiva on the inside of the eyelid rather than in the skin, so there is no skin incision line and no stitches to remove. Healing differs between individuals.
Does the approach differ by age?
The clinic describes that for the bulging-fat and tear-trough type common in people in their 20s–30s, remaining fat is used to fill hollows; for the sagging-fat and deep tear-trough type common in their 40s–50s, excess fat is reduced and repositioned toward the front of the cheek. The actual method is decided after diagnosis.
How long does it take and what anesthesia is used?
Per the clinic's surgery information, the operation takes 30 minutes to 1 hour under local anesthesia or sedation, and no hospital stay is required.
