Risks and side effects

Results and recovery vary by individual. Possible complications are explained during consultation.

How it is done

Ultrasound checks the breast and implant suitability, and implant size, height and projection are chosen to fit the body. An incision is made in the armpit crease or breast fold, the pocket is created under Full HD endoscopic view, and the Motiva implant is inserted with a Keller funnel. The implant is placed dual-plane (partly under the muscle, partly under the breast gland) and the incision is closed with Dermabond. A board-certified anesthesiologist handles anesthesia 1:1.

  1. Hospital staySurgery is planned so that same-day discharge is possible; if a one-night stay is needed, you recover in a hospital room.
  2. EatingYou may eat 8 hours post-surgery; soft rice gruel or porridge is recommended.
  3. Closure and stitchesThe incision is closed with medical skin adhesive, so no stitches are removed at follow-up visits.

  5. Arm movementLight arm movements are fine, but raising the arms overhead is allowed from one month post-surgery.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Motiva and Mentor implants?

Per the clinic website, Motiva Ergonomix features a SmoothSilk surface, BluSeal and a UDI chip. For Mentor, the clinic offers Xtra (fill volume can be adjusted), Boost (memory gel) and Smooth (smooth surface); Mentor also has a manufacturer lifetime warranty policy that replaces implants under certain conditions for products implanted in Korea. Which implant suits you is decided in consultation based on body shape and test results.

What is the UDI chip?

It is a unique device identifier built into Motiva implants; the clinic states it allows the implant information to be checked.

How long is recovery?

Walks from 2–3 days, exercise and raising the arms overhead from one month, driving from 7–10 days, and underwire bras from 6 months post-surgery. A compression bra is worn for about one month and an upper band for 2–4 weeks.

Who performs the breast surgery?

The clinic's breast surgery and breast revision pages state that three board-certified plastic surgeons — Dr. Kim Woo-jung, Dr. Park Young-ji and Dr. Park Hae-yeon — operate in person. A board-certified anesthesiologist is dedicated 1:1 to anesthesia from the start to the end of surgery.
